About Reeta Peshawaria Center
The Journey of the Reeta Peshawaria Center:
- In early 2012, Simmi Santha, a former student of the renowned Dr. Reeta Peshawaria Menon, reconnected with her mentor through regular email exchanges. Simmi was working as an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapist in Canada, providing therapy to children with autism. During their conversations, Dr. Reeta encouraged Simmi to consider creating a support system for parents of children with autism in India. Simmi, who already had aspirations to disseminate ABA therapy in India, found Dr. Reeta’s suggestion profoundly motivating. Following Dr. Reeta’s passing, Simmi shared their discussions with Dr. Menon, who wholeheartedly supported the initiative. Dr. Menon also permitted Simmi to name any future center in India after Dr. Reeta and offered his unwavering guidance.
- Determined to bring this vision to life, Simmi visited India between 2012 and 2014 to assess the existing needs and support systems for autism intervention.
- In July 2014, she established the Reeta Peshawaria Center as a clinic in Mallappally, her mother’s hometown, transforming her mother’s home into a dedicated space for this initiative. By 2015, the clinic evolved into a Trust, solidifying its mission to provide ABA-based support for children with autism and their families. Dr. Kiran Bedi formally inaugurated the center’s operations in 2014 and 2015, marking significant milestones in its growth.
- Since then, with the collaboration of Dr. Mereen Punnen in 2015 and Simmi’s biannual visits to India until 2019, the center has hosted numerous professional workshops nationwide. Additionally, Dr. Menon’s continued support and visits have been instrumental in fostering the center’s expansion.

Our Legacy
The Reeta Peshawaria Center was founded in 2015 by Ms. Simmi Santha, a passionate Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in Canada. The center is a tribute to her mentor, the late Dr. Reeta Peshawaria Menon, a pioneer in clinical psychology and rehabilitation in India.
As the first center in Kerala to offer ABA-based interventions, we are proud to lead the way in evidence-based practices, skill training, and behavior management for children with Autism and other intellectual disabilities. Registered as a charitable trust, our center is committed to creating a brighter future for differently abled children and their families.
